Witch Children In Nigeria: Spiritual Atrocity

Today, I read an article on CNN.com that completely floored me. It is an article about the witch children in Nigeria. This breaks my heart in two. I can not adequately describe how this makes me feel. It angers and disgusts me that people use my Savior's name to inflict such base atrocity on others; more especially children.

This must be stopped. I can not believe that more is not being done about this. This is spiritual abuse to the extreme. The article is as follows:

Spiritual abuse has always been a major concern in churches, the world over. Yet, never before, have we seen such a new willingness to share painful and destructive experiences in churches as we have seen in recent years. People want to be heard and they long to find healing.

But that left me spiritually empty.Read more

Project Reconcile Phase I is ended

It is with great pleasure that I announce the top letter submissions for Project Reconcile. Truthfully, there were not that many submissions. However, the quality of said submissions was impressive. It was difficult to rank them.

Each letter was evaluated by a panel of Christian writers against a wide variety of criteria. The top three that emerged were the following:

Overcoming Betrayal--By Cindy Price
Standing Firm In Our Faith--By Cherie LaLanne
To Whom It May Concern--By T.J. Sinsay

Project Reconcile: Open Letters To The Hurt And Spiritually Abused

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
-2 Corinthians 5:18

Chances are, you know someone who has left the church after having been damaged by the Christians that comprise it. Maybe they left Christ completely. That person might even be you. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the trespass, the negative effects on that person’s life can take years to recover from, if they recover at all. Read more
