Studying the word of God, while not required for salvation, is essential to the development of every believer and is an integral component of the individual and corporate Christian experience.

Whew. Okay. Assuming that we are thoughtful believers and are in agreement with the above statement, the next question necessarily rears its massive head:

Which version of the Bible is the best? KJV? NIV? NLT? CEV? MSG?

Mentorship

You might take a moment to consider the people in your life who you view as being teachable. In what ways are they teachable? How do you regard their opinions? Do you respect them? Do their words carry weight? This brings us to the idea of finding a mentor.
Nothing says “I’m teachable” like allowing yourself to be mentored by a more experienced Christian or even several more experienced Christians.

Who doesn't love a good theological discussion? Pick your subject: soteriology, hermeneutics, exegetics, oh...and, of course, eschatology. There is an endless river of subject material to explore. The sheer amount of variety is staggering. One could easily spend a lifetime deciphering the mysteries and complexities of the Bible...and many have done just that.

"When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, 'Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.' "The workers who were hired about the eleventh hour came and each received a denarius. So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner.
