I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
-John 17:23

The ever changing and broadening realm of Christianity today is teeming with new and interesting methodologies, technologies and conversations. So much so, that systems and programs may get the lion's share of attention in today's church. Cell phones ring, calendars are adhered to, breakfast is skipped and bustle abounds. We are all very busy setting out to optimize, organize and synergize the Kingdom.

Sometimes, we can forget the simple, irrevocable fact that God loves us...each of us...more deeply and profoundly than we could ever come close to imagining. This is especially true during times of struggle. We can beat ourselves into the mindset of condemnation. One day we can feel loved completely. The next day, we can feel like deflated balloons, fallen and forgotten.

You, whoever you are...wherever you are at, are inconceivably important to God. As much as he loved his own son, so he also loves you. There has never been anyone he has loved more. Think about that. He concerns himself with your day; your comings and goings. He shares in your struggles and delights in your triumphs. You are his very own...he knows you. And his desire is for you.

And yes, this applies to you. There are no exceptions, no black sheep, no bad eggs, no odd man out...period. His love is unshakably true. He will never change his mind about how much he loves you and you can never do anything to banish it. You are stuck with it. So, you might as well do the unthinkable; receive it.

Like a potent signal, arcing through eternity, God's love reaches all of us, everywhere and everywhen in the whole of existence, piercing into the marrow of our being...inviting us merely to acknowledge the truth of its sincerity and its origin.

Viewing ourselves through God's eyes is just as important as viewing others through them. When we do, we necessarily see that, even though we might be a deflated balloon at times, we are treasured and sought after by a loving Father who desires to see us, once again, take flight and restored into right relationship with him.

If doubt finds its way into your heart, just read the above scripture and take note that Jesus, himself, spoke these words to his Father...your Father.
