A Call For Help

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

By now, many of you know that I have lost my day job. This was within days of having to move into a hotel after discovering exorbitant levels of mold in the house we rent. This has created some very unique circumstances that will be difficult to mitigate.

We have, essentially, lost all of our clothing due to mold contamination. So, right now, my four boys, wife and I have only the clothes on our backs. My wife and I don't care so much about ourselves, but we are concerned for the boys. So, if there are any people out there in the San Diego area who have boys clothes they would be willing to donate, we welcome any help.

Through this situation, all of the prayers, advice and moral support we have received has been shaping up into one major theme: Do what God has called us to do.

For those of you who don't know, we moved to the San Diego area, late last year, to serve the lost and suffering in this area and to plant a church. It didn't take long, however, for us to fall into the trap of self reliance. We began to focus too heavily on the 9 to 5, rather than the ministry we were sent to engage in.

This is a heavy and painful realization that has left us contrite and in need of restoration. It was pride that kept us from relying on God's provision through the mercy of the church and the everyday believer, which we now know was God's intention all along.

This situation has recalibrated our spiritual focus and strengthened our sense of purpose. So, like so many of you have suggested via Facebook comments and emails and phone calls, we are going to throw ourselves headlong into the ministry that God sent us here for. Your words helped me realize that there is nothing wrong with asking for help from the greater body of believers.

We are humbly and prayerfully asking for the support of readers, friends and family in whatever way you feel led. There is a donate button on the left for paypal donations. We will accept anything given in love. Purchasing my book is a good way to help as well or even just telling others about it. Every bit helps.

In the meantime, consider the church planted. If you live in the San Diego area, I would like to invite you to join us for earnest prayer, encouragement and scriptural exploration this coming Sunday night somewhere in the Imperial Beach area. I will repost with the time and location once we figure out where. It will be in the evening, as I already help with another struggling church in Poway during the day.

Either way, I will continue to post on T.R.U.T.H. In Ministry.org as usual and I pray that God floods each of your lives with peace and purpose.

Very Respectfully In Christ,
T. Michael Cart
